ORA Design produced an extensive drawing package to convert this existing period stable building into a new dwelling.
The extensive package of information was used to obtain a challenging Planning Approval, provide a new vehicular access over a brook and obtain Building Regulations approval.
On this project, given the sensitive nature of the site, the client wanted to resolve detail prior to obtaining building contractors tender prices. So a detailed design package was prepared. This was key to making success of this project.
The approach was taken to adapt the stable as sympathetically and as greenly and as possible using what structure was already in place with new products and technology but keeping costs low wherever possible.
There was an existing feature truss, which was retained. The existing deteriorating brickwork and stone walls were cleaned and made good. New high performance insulation was installed to the buildings elements wherever possible.
